About

I am an East Coast transplant with an inborn love of design and a natural pull to connect with others. Even as a child, I found myself continuously creating and sharing my work. Whether painting, drawing, writing short stories or building tree houses- I loved to use my hands. As I grew, this desire to create never left me.

My loves of art and communications evolved as I attended Denison University, where I majored in Communications and minored in Studio Art. In the studio, I was exposed to different types of materials, and in the classroom I studied the  growth of human interaction and communication.

In 2005 I moved to the Bay Area to initially begin a career in jewelry design and customer relations. Since then, learning how to combine a product’s design with the real life challenges of time, customer interface, budgeting and function. In 2010, I sought to expand my personal design and communication toolbox and studied Graphic Design at University of California, Berkeley Extension.

Recently, I heard the phrase ‘Communication Intelligence’ and I thought it was the perfect way to describe my skill. In order to understand what a client needs or wants, you have to be able to both listen as well as guide. Designing is never done in a straight line – there is give and take. Whether sitting with a customer, vendor or CAD designer,  you must listen, translate and facilitate to get to the end product.

I am patient, quick and come with a unique set of experiences. And want to bring all I have to the table and more.

Please send any comments or questions about my work and/or future career path below.  I am always looking for new opportunities and would love to hear from you.
